This role requires the candidate to be full-time on-site at NJDOT Headquarters, located at 1035 Parkway Avenue, Ewing, NJ.
- Experience with the NJDOT Roadway Design Manual, AASHTO guidelines, MUTCD, and Complete Streets policies.
- Experience working for a public agency is a plus.
- Strong communication and organizational skills for managing multiple projects simultaneously.
- Minimum of 1 year of experience, or a Master's Degree, with safety projects and road safety project delivery, including traffic signal engineering, crash data analysis, and safety program development. Experience with the NJDOT Capital Projects Delivery Process highly desirable.
- NJPE, NJPP/AICP and or RSP1/RSP2 preferred.
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, planning or related field is required.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders, including NJDOT staff, local agencies, and consultants.
- Knowledge of Highway Safety Manual (HSM) and experience in conducting HSM analysis, including predictive methods, and ISATe tools.
- Familiarity with FHWA-proven safety countermeasures, crash reduction factors.
