What you would be doing

Perform work safely and effectively. Understand and follow oral and written instructions, including warning signs, equipment use, and other policies.
Compiling, analyzing, and interpreting occupational illness and accident statistical data at the project level; recommending process and product safety features that will reduce employee exposure to chemical, physical, and biological work hazards.
Developing environmental health and safety training materials to include manuals, brochures, PowerPoint presentations etc.
Routinely monitoring the workforce for unsafe behaviors and coach employees on the correct behaviors when observed
Lead and mentor a team of safety professionals.
Interpreting safety regulations for the project.
Stay abreast of industry trends and advancements in safety practices.
Direct incident investigations and oversee the development of corrective action plans.
Interfacing with Occupational Safety and Health (OSHA) (Provincial or federal) officials/inspectors in the event or a site visit.
Work during normal operating hours to organize and complete work within given deadlines. Work overtime and weekends as required.
Managing the project environmental health and safety programs, driving a safety-oriented approach to work.
Provide executive-level reports on safety performance and metrics for the project.
Conduct high-level safety audits, inspections, and risk assessments.
Promote a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement.
Develop and execute a comprehensive safety strategy aligned with project and company goals.
Coordinating and presenting safety training to support client requirements including new hire orientation, fall protection, confined space, lockout/tagout and repertory.
Developing a paperwork management system to track training records to track all safety training initiatives conducted personally or by outside consultants/vendors.
Collaborate with senior management and project teams to integrate safety into all aspects of the project.
Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal safety regulations.
Routinely inspecting the facilities, machinery, and safety equipment in order to identify and correct potential hazards, and to ensure safety regulation compliance.

Minimum of 10-15 years of experience in safety management within the construction industry, with a focus on vertical building and/or healthcare construction projects.
Proven leadership and team management skills.
Communicate and interact effectively and professionally with supervisors, employees, and others individually or in a team environment.
Regular, reliable attendance
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Work productively and meet deadlines timely
Certified Safety Professional (CSP) or equivalent certification preferred.
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Proficiency in safety management software and tools.
Extensive knowledge of OSHA regulations and other relevant safety standards.
Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related field.
