A global engineering & nuclear services firm delivering end‑to‑end infrastructure and energy solutions.
The Director will collaborate with Business Development and Project Delivery teams to define proposal timelines, goals, and deliverables that align with client requirements. Responsibilities include overseeing the entire engineering project lifecycle—design, development, testing, and implementation—while managing technical risk, resources, and safety. The role also entails preparing monthly project reports and ensuring passenger rail system specifications are met.
Providing strategic technical leadership across all engineering disciplines, the Director will champion engineering excellence, innovation, and continuous improvement. They will oversee quality‑assurance frameworks, conduct formal design reviews, and promote a value‑engineering mindset to balance performance, cost, and constructability. Complex technical challenges will be resolved early, with a focus on safety, environmental, and operational standards.
The role requires close collaboration with internal and external stakeholders, including clients, architects, vendors, contractors, and regulatory authorities. Effective communication will be essential for delivering regular engineering updates, managing expectations, and representing the engineering team in meetings, presentations, and technical discussions.
Candidates must hold a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in engineering, have 15+ years of system design management experience (including 10+ years in leadership on major rail and transit projects), and be a licensed Professional Engineer in Canada. Expertise in subway system designs, Fixed Block and ATC/ECTS/DIGITAL signalling, EN50126 compliance, and systems integration for both greenfield and brownfield rail is required. Strong strategic thinking, governance, risk management, and bilingual communication (English and French) are essential.
