Intermediate Quantity Surveyor

Description

• Leading pre-award meetings with new sub-contractors and managing procurement;
• Managing sub-contractor packages, including purchasing and on-site monitoring;
• Processing fortnightly/monthly sub-contractor payment certificates;
• Issuing interim payment applications and valuations;
• Reviewing tender enquiries, performing tender analysis, and supporting procurement;
• Handling sub-contractor re-measurements, variations, interim valuations, and final account settlements;
• Preparing and negotiating final accounts in collaboration with the Senior QS;
• Compiling, assessing, and negotiating variations and maintaining the variation log.
• Monitoring and issuing contra charges, with notifications to sub-contractors;
• Reporting directly to the Senior Quantity Surveyor and supporting commercial management;

Requirements

We are seeking an experienced Intermediate Quantity Surveyor (3-5+ years’ experience) to join a well-established progressive Main Building Contractor on an iconic restoration and refurbishment project in County Mayo. This project is just commencing with a 2+ year duration. As an Intermediate QS, you will work closely with the Senior QS, leading commercial tasks and mentoring juniors. Responsibilities include managing budgets, producing progress reports, handling variations and final accounts, client/subcontractor liaison, and site meetings. This role offers career advancement on a prestigious heritage project, with hands-on experience in restoration, risk assessment, procurement, and project coordination.

• Diploma / Degree in Quantity Surveying;
• Ability to work in a team.
• Excellent interpersonal skills, strong written and oral communication skills;
• Advanced cost monitoring, forecasting, and reporting using Construction Computer Software;
• Preferably 3-5 years Quantity Surveying experience;
