  • Supporting project teams in meeting quality standards, safety compliance, and effective communication.
  • Assisting with procurement activities, including purchase orders and forecasting.
  • Contributing to project financial management, including:
  • Supporting efforts to ensure compliance with OSHA and Tilcon’s OH&S management system.
  • Helping maintain accurate project documentation and reporting.
  • Assisting in project planning and scheduling of labor, equipment, material, and subcontractor requirements with project stakeholders.

  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work both independently and as part of a high-functioning team.
  • Travel to and from jobsites within Connecticut may be required.
  • Prior construction or civil infrastructure experience (internships, co-ops, fieldwork) is preferred but not required.
  • Payment documentation and change management
  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field.
  • Must hold a valid driver’s license with reliable transportation.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with a willingness to contribute to team-based solutions.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
  • Ability to interpret construction plans and material specifications.
  • Exposure to active construction environments (heavy equipment, traffic, weather conditions including heat, cold, and rain).
  • Demonstrates urgency, accountability, and adaptability when faced with shifting priorities.
  • Must successfully complete a pre-employment drug screen and background check.
  • Must always comply with Tilcon Connecticut’s safety requirements.
  • Jobsite-based internship; primary reporting from a construction trailer/field setting.
  • Familiarity with DOT projects or union environments is considered an asset.
  • Comfortable working in physical and fast-paced field environments.
  • Must pass a “Fit for Work” physical to meet site safety standards.
  • Excellent organizational and communication abilities.
  • Other duties as assigned to provide well-rounded exposure to the operations of a heavy civil construction project.
