Architectural Draftsman

Description

This position will support architects in establishing their designs from concept through project completion. Candidates will have a strong knowledge of architectural drafting and detailing of retail interiors. The Architectural Draftsman should be capable of working across and within multi-brand retail, automotive, and conceptual designs. Reporting to the Lead Architects and Senior Design Manager he/she should able to produce quality work and support the designers in the completion of their designs. They will be responsible for producing layouts, sections and elevations as well as 3D models and renders as required. Working within strict time lines to meet target dates without comprise in quality.

• Maintain the filing system of all documents and work within the departments quality standards
• Analyse building codes, by-laws, space and site requirements, and other technical documents and reports to determine their effect on architectural designs.
• Layout and space plan arrangements for different buildings and concepts.
• Operate AutoCAD produce designs, working drawings and tender packages.
• Coordinate structural, electrical and mechanical designs and determine a method of presentation to graphically represent building plans.
• Drafting and building new technical details for exterior and interior portions of a project.
• Maintain the filing system of all documents and work within the departments quality standards.
• Conduct site visits to analyse and snag detailing elements of each project.
• Site survey and site architectural supervision, conduct site visit based on the project needs.
• Obtain and assemble data to complete architectural designs, visiting job sites to compile measurements as necessary.
• Operate Adobe Creative Suite.

• Represent architect on construction site, ensuring builder compliance with design specifications and advising on design corrections, under architect's supervision.
• Operate 3D Modelling software Autodesk Revit.

Requirements

• Must visually interpret verbal instructions and suggestions.
• 5-7- years of experience in Architectural, Interior and mill works drafting and detailing.
• Good, fast and accurate use of AutoCad, Revit, Adobe Photoshop and Microsoft office is a must .
• Able to work independently and as a team member with good communication skills
• Must know how to incorporate/coordinate construction features (including plumbing, electrical and other mechanicals) into design
• Must have a team-oriented attitude, an attention to detail and an ability to meet deadlines.
• Able to work under pressure and deliver finished results to deadlines.
