  • Creates planning and scheduling related training programs and classes for Operations and Field staff within the Region.
  • Leads and supports Change Management delays and claims (compensable and non-compensable, excusable, and non-excusable, etc.).
  • Provides insights to future capacity and supply constraints, risks, and opportunities within the business unit and with key partners.
  • Collaborates with marketing team on related presentations and marketing activities.
  • Assists with procurement and supervision of scheduling consultants to meet specific project requirements.
  • Provides periodic review and recommendations to refine Company planning and scheduling program and best practices.
  • Responsible for leading production planning and material planning for the business unit.
  • Plans, manages and implements the planning and scheduling program and manages larger teams for assigned business unit.
  • Guides the efforts for planning and scheduling group development of best practice standards, including leadership roles in department objective plans.
  • Leads, supports and promotes a culture of diversity and inclusion within JE Dunn. Understands JE Dunn’s policy of non-discrimination and ensures positive, proactive implementation throughout the organization.
  • Develops and supports company-wide planning and scheduling initiatives.
  • Maintains or exceeds required reimbursability and ensures direct reports do the same.
  • Leads discussion on planning and scheduling related matters in pre-construction and operational meetings.
  • Leads detailed critical path analysis for problem projects and root cause analysis for issues.
  • Helps provide timely statistical information and status on all planning and scheduling to senior management.
  • Facilitates and incorporates the use of Lean principles and pull planning during schedule development and project construction.
  • Drives standardization and implement global best practices for Planning and Scheduling with focus on schedule optimization within the department.
  • Supports Lean and Pull Planning sessions by ensuring the CPM master schedule is aligned with pull plan results. May also lead and facilitate the Pull Planning sessions, as required by project needs.
  • Collaborates with other planning and scheduling management nationwide to monitor trends and share lessons learned.
  • Reviews schedules to ensure conformation to current best practice standards and project requirements and communicates applicable review comments.
  • Assists in the development of project-specific planning and scheduling budgets.
  • Develops positive working relationships with internal and external clients, including Owners, business partners, manufacturer’s reps and third party consultants.
  • Collaborates with Planning and Scheduling leadership team in working with marketing to supply planning and scheduling information for project proposals.
  • Creates bid and proposal schedules to assist Marketing and Operations managers.

  • Knowledge of all types of construction projects and delivery methods – Advanced
  • Ability to effectively collaborate as a team, both internally and externally
  • Ability to read and understand plans, drawings and specifications – Advanced
  • Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds
  • 10+ years planning and scheduling experience (Required)
  • 2+ years financial management experience (Preferred)
  • Valid and unrestricted drivers license required
  • Bachelor’s degree in construction management, engineering or related field (Preferred)
  • Ability to perform work accurately and completely, and in a timely manner
  • Ability to provide performance management feedback
  • Occasional activity: Standing, Walking, Bending, Climbing, Reaching above Shoulder, Pushing, Pulling
  • Communication skills, verbal and written – Advanced
  • Must be willing to work non-traditional hours to meet business needs
  • In lieu of the above requirements, equivalent relevant experience will be considered.
  • Ability to effectively lead and support Change Management delays and claims
  • Knowledge of work activity sequencing, scheduling concepts and best practices, with the ability to effectively communicate opportunities for improvement – Advanced
  • May require periods of travel and/or relocation
  • Ability to lead internal scheduling training classes
  • Ability to recognize schedule sequencing areas of concern and opportunities where sequencing improvements can occur – Advanced
  • 2+ years scheduling software management experience (Preferred)
  • Proficiency in MS Office – Advanced
  • Ability to establish and maintain collaborative relationships at all levels of the organization
  • Frequent activity: Sitting, Viewing Computer Screen
  • Knowledge of Lean process and philosophy – Advanced
  • Proficiency in scheduling software – Advanced
  • 5+ years people management experience (Preferred)
