Carbon and Battery Quality Technician

Description

• Work closely with production teams to implement quality control measures and improve product quality.
• Analyze test data, prepare detailed reports on findings, and recommend corrective actions to address any identified issues.
• Cutting-edge innovation: Work on technologies at the intersection of materials science, energy storage, and advanced manufacturing that strengthen energy security and local supply chains.
• Conduct detailed inspections of carbon materials and batteries at various stages of the production process to identify defects or deviations from quality standards.
• Train and guide production staff on quality control practices and the importance of adhering to standards.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant safety and environmental regulations during testing and handling of materials
• Global impact: Help scale new materials and energy solutions that reinforce industrial resilience across the U.S. and Europe.
• Perform various tests on battery components and finished products, including but not limited to electrical, mechanical, and environmental tests, to ensure they meet specified requirements.
• Participate in root cause analysis for product failures and develop strategies to prevent future occurrences.

Requirements

• Experience with SQL, Jira and Tableau are a plus.
• Must have a good knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint).
• Ability to use a variety of precision measuring tools, including calipers, micrometers, Microscope, height gauge, optical measuring machines (OMM), coordinate measuring machines (CMM), etc.
• Must be able to lift, up to 50 lbs.
• No physical limitations to wear personal protective equipment (PPE), including respirators when required.
• Must collaborate and work well with other team members.
• Receiving, Manufacturing and/or Battery experience are a plus.

• Must be able to communicate effectively.
• Must be able to sit, stand and use a computer for extended periods of time.
• Must be able to occasionally work in a dry room setting.
• Ability to read technical & engineering drawings
• Associate Degree in a technical field (or equivalent experience)
