The role manages the commissioning process from pre‑energization through project completion and turnover, overseeing electrical room permits, compliance, inspections, and the site LOTO program.

- Manage commissioning process from pre‑energization to project completion and turnover
- Administer electrical room access permits and attendance
- Ensure compliance with safe work practices during energization and isolation activities
- Verify commission plans and review quality reports
- Conduct pre‑energization inspections
- Oversee the site LOTO program
- Review and audit energy isolation procedures for safety and efficiency
- Serve as subject‑matter expert for energy isolation and provide guidance
- Attend daily/weekly High‑Risk Activity and Job Hazard Analysis meetings and support procedure preparation
- Partner with project teams to identify and implement continuous improvement strategies
- Communicate complex technical solutions and energy concepts to engineers and non‑engineers
- Audit site practices against established safety standards
- Interpret line drawings and system redundancies to ensure effective LOTO design and compliance
- Provide expert guidance on energy isolation in multi‑energy environments, focusing on electrical systems
- Act as independent authority to stop unsafe work practices related to energy isolation
- Participate in weekly safety meetings
- Collaborative teamwork to drive process improvements

The Energy Marshal is a safety professional who will ensure the safe execution of energization and isolation activities, focusing on energy isolation procedures, auditing practices, and expert guidance on energy isolation standards. A strong safety background and technical expertise in energy isolation, particularly in data center environments, is critical.
- Preferred: 7+ years commercial construction experience
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent experience
- Minimum 4 years experience in energy isolation, safety, or related field
- NFPA 70E certification
- Experience with DC construction and commissioning standards
- Ability to ensure safe installation of electrical equipment across AC and DC voltages
- Strong communication skills to explain complex technical concepts
- Proficiency in auditing site practices against written standards
- Familiarity with multiple energy sources, especially in data centers, emphasizing electrical systems
