Description

• Maintain HVAC systems, boilers, and associated plant equipment.
• Undertake general building maintenance, including doors, locks, flooring, and basic joinery.
• Participate in on-call rota and provide emergency support when required.
• Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, risk assessments, and permit-to-work systems.
• Perform planned preventive maintenance (PPM) and reactive repairs on mechanical systems, plumbing, and building fabric.
• Keep accurate records of work completed and materials used.
• Carry out minor electrical tasks (e.g., replacing lamps, checking sockets) within competency limits.
• Diagnose and resolve faults on heating systems, pumps, valves, pipework, and general building infrastructure.
• Support sustainability and energy efficiency initiatives.

Requirements

• Proven experience in multi-skilled maintenance within commercial or industrial environments.
• Flexible and adaptable approach to work.
• Good communication and interpersonal abilities.
• High attention to detail and commitment to quality.
• Ability to read technical drawings and follow maintenance schedules.
• Basic electrical competency for minor tasks (not primary focus).
• Strong problem-solving and fault-finding skills.
• Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, plumbing, and building fabric repairs.
• Recognized qualification in mechanical engineering, plumbing, or building services (NVQ Level 3 or equivalent).
• Good problem-solving skills and ability to work independently or as part of a team.
