- Select standard bridge engineering/design procedures, develop structural details using specialized structural design and analysis software and perform structural load calculations; and assist with geometric layout, specifications and quantity development.
- Carry out Construction Contract Administration Duties
- Apply structural engineering and detailing techniques in the development of bridge designs
- Work on projects that typically include bridge (steel plate girder, prestress concrete, segmental and cable) box culvert, and interchange design for highway and railway projects
- Periodically conduct field inspections for different types of railway or highway structures.
- Coordinate work with other disciplines including road, geotechnical, drainage and environmental planning
- Review, assign work and/or check design calculations, estimates, and specifications produced by junior engineers and EITs
- Prepare and review technical reports, tender documents and cost estimates

- Knowledge of and some familiarity with Bluebeam Revu and engineering software packages such as: LEAP Bridge Enterprise, FB-MultiPier, LPile, AASHTOWare BrR, midas Civil, MDX, SAP2000, CSiBridge, RM Bridge, spColumn, STLBridgeLRFD, or STLBridge
- Familiarity with engineering software packages such as: LEAP Bridge Enterprise, LPile, Midas Civil, SAP2000, or LUSAS would be a plus
- P. Eng. or in the process to obtain P.Eng., EIT is required
- Strong understanding and hands-on use of computers for structural layout and design
- MS Office, MathCAD and AutoCAD, LARSA and Prestress Concrete Design experience
- Bachelor's degree
- Experience in bridge design or construction experience, including MTO/Municipal and Railway structures or completed related structural engineering courses as part of the undergraduate degree program.
- Engineer in Training (EIT) certificate.
- Good communication skills and willing to work in a team environment
- Knowledge of Bently OpenBridge Designer and OpenBridge Modeler and/or Autodesk Infraworks and Civil3d
