Director – Grid Solution & Certification Engineering

Description

As Director of the solution engineering group you will build and lead a high‑performance integration and testing team, own the CI/CD pipelines and System Integration Reference Environment (SIRE), and align test environments across the business. You will integrate SIRE with the Evergreen cloud strategy, certify runtime environments—including hardware qualification—and use AI‑driven simulation to generate comprehensive test data sets.

• Build and scale a world‑class enterprise software integration, testing, and certification team.
• Own and evolve CI/CD pipelines and the System Integration Reference Environment (SIRE) for Grid software.
• Converge and integrate test environments across the business and align them with Evergreen cloud deployment.
• Lead hardware qualification and runtime environment certification for all Grid products.
• Recreate customer issues, enhance regression tests, and drive continuous improvement of SIRE.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional leadership to define vision, strategy, and execution for the integrated reference environment.
• Develop resource‑planning and innovation strategies for the organization.
• Leverage AI and advanced simulation to create high‑quality test data sets for integrated testing.
• Cultivate deep domain knowledge in power systems to enable end‑to‑end solution delivery.
• Engage customers to capture priorities, translate them into actionable plans, and provide day‑to‑day direction.
• Foster a continuous learning culture and mentor next‑generation people leaders.
• Guide teams in adopting Agile, troubleshoot adoption challenges, and promote XP practices.
• Establish transparent decision‑rights, accountability frameworks, and collaborative culture.

Requirements

The position demands deep technical expertise: mastery of the software development life‑cycle, CI/CD best practices, full‑stack platform concepts, cloud technologies, and agile frameworks. You must also guide teams in adopting Agile, troubleshoot adoption challenges, and champion continuous improvement and XP practices.

Strong business acumen and leadership are essential. You will prioritize projects against competitive risks, evangelize emerging technologies, shape a customer‑focused culture, and establish transparent decision‑making frameworks. By developing vision, fostering collaboration, and mentoring next‑generation leaders, you will drive efficiency, accountability, and strategic execution.

Minimum qualifications include a Bachelor’s in Computer Science or a STEM field, at least 15 years of software solution experience, and 7 years of people‑leadership. Experience in industrial power‑grid environments, enterprise‑scale DevOps, and distributed computing is a strong plus, and relocation assistance is available.
