HDR is looking for a Project Controls Manager to join our team. The primary role of this position is to develop and maintain project controls practices on assigned projects, with the goal to meet scope, schedule, and budget performance. This role will work alongside the Program and Project Managers to establish a project controls approach and, when necessary, manage a project controls team to actively monitor performance and identify deficiencies. Projects span industrial facilities, pipelines and terminals, substations and transmission lines, renewable resources, power generation, and waste facilities, and the role will assist the Program Manager in assessing program health and KPIs.
Preferred qualifications include a bachelor’s degree in engineering, construction management, engineering management, accounting, business administration or a related field, and at least 10 years of experience serving as a project controls manager on infrastructure projects with contracts exceeding $300 million. Candidates should be proficient with Primavera P6, Microsoft Project, and familiar with delivery methods such as DBB, DB, EPCM, PDB, IPD, or CMAR. Experience with additional PMIS software such as eBuilder, ProCore, QuickBase, InEight, Kahua, or PMWeb is strongly desired, alongside strong interpersonal skills and a “can‑do” attitude.
Required qualifications include a bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 10 years’ experience in project controls work on engineering and construction projects, covering planning, estimating, forecasting, scheduling, cost control, schedule control, and reporting. Candidates must be able to manage proposal preparation, contract review, negotiation, client relationships, and win strategy for medium to large EPC projects, and demonstrate strong decision‑making, leadership, organizational, analytical, problem‑solving, and communication skills. An active commitment to HDR’s employee‑owned culture is required, and sponsorship for US employment authorization is not available.
