Description

The Architecture Project Manager leads architectural delivery for transit and infrastructure‑related buildings, handling scope, schedule, budget, quality, and multidisciplinary coordination while serving as the primary client liaison. The role demands strong technical expertise, proven leadership, and the ability to manage multiple concurrent projects with urgency and consistent standards.

• Lead architectural design and documentation from planning through construction
• Develop and manage scope, schedule, budget, staffing, and deliverables
• Manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining quality and consistency
• Anticipate challenges, establish priorities, and respond with urgency
• Support proposal preparation, scopes, and fee development
• Serve as the primary architectural point of contact for clients and project partners
• Lead meetings, present design solutions, and communicate decisions effectively
• Coordinate closely with internal disciplines and external consultants
• Champion high-quality design and technically sound documentation
• Ensure compliance with codes, accessibility, safety, agency standards, and best practices
• Lead internal reviews to ensure alignment, coordination, and design integrity
• Provide construction-phase support, including RFIs, submittals, site visits, and punch lists
• Provide direction, guidance, and mentorship to project teams
• Promote disciplined project execution, accountability, and continuous improvement
• Help cultivate a culture of quality, consistency, and professional excellence

Requirements

• U.S. Citizenship required
• Licensed Architect (RA) in NY or NJ (or ability to obtain reciprocal licensure)
• Minimum 8 years of progressively responsible architectural experience
• Experience with transit, rail, or transportation facilities
• Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
• Strong knowledge of building codes, life‑safety, accessibility, and technical design
• Exceptional communication and presentation skills
• Ability to establish priorities, maintain focus, and act with urgency
• AutoCAD proficiency
• Experience with K‑12 and/or educational facilities
• Experience with public housing projects
• Experience working with public agencies or institutional clients
• Proficiency with Revit and BIM environment
• Familiarity with alternative delivery models (Design‑Build, CM/GC, etc.)
• LEED accreditation or other sustainability credentials
