

Creates and manages long‑term on‑campus student accommodation through DBFO partnerships.
The technician will provide both planned and reactive maintenance across student residences, ensuring all health and safety considerations are assessed before work begins. Responsibilities include carrying out reactive repairs, preventive maintenance, statutory testing, accurate record‑keeping, and leading electrical stock management. The role also involves supporting colleagues in other trades and contributing to team development.
We are seeking a Multi‑Skilled Technician (Electrical) to join our on‑site team at Exeter University. This permanent, full‑time role works 37.5 hours per week, Monday‑Friday 9 am‑5 pm, with participation in an on‑call rota, and offers a salary of approximately £34,441 plus on‑call allowance. A current manual UK driving licence is essential.
Candidates must be fully qualified electricians, holding City & Guilds qualifications such as 236/2360/2365/2000/2330/2397 or an equivalent EAL qualification, as well as City & Guilds 2382 (18th Edition) certification. Experience in a similar campus environment, strong communication, IT and organisational skills, and a solid understanding of building services, safe working practices, and health & safety are required. Flexibility to work additional hours during peak student arrival and departure periods is also expected.
