Wallcovering Installer

Description

The Wallcovering Installer prepares, measures, cuts and applies a variety of wallcovering materials to interior and exterior surfaces. The position demands meticulous attention to detail, precision craftsmanship, and the ability to meet design and client expectations. Collaboration with designers, project managers and other installers is essential to keep projects on schedule and maintain quality standards.

Work is performed on commercial and residential job sites, often requiring travel to client locations. Installers work primarily indoors but may encounter confined or elevated spaces, and must follow all safety procedures and site regulations.

• Measure and prepare walls, ensuring surfaces are clean, smooth, and properly primed.
• Cut, match, and install wallcoverings such as vinyl, fabric, digital prints, murals, and specialty materials.
• Align patterns precisely, maintain consistent seams, and ensure proper adhesion.
• Remove existing wallcoverings and repair damaged surfaces as needed.
• Mix and apply adhesives according to manufacturer specifications.
• Maintain tools, equipment, and materials in clean, working condition.
• Collaborate with designers, project managers, and other installers to meet timelines and quality standards.
• Follow safety procedures and site regulations throughout installations.

Requirements

• Demonstrated experience as a professional wallcovering installer or wallpaper hanger.
• Strong knowledge of wall preparation, adhesives, and application techniques for diverse materials.
• Ability to read blueprints, design layouts, and installation specifications.
• Excellent attention to detail, color matching, and pattern alignment.
• Effective communication and time‑management skills.
• Physical ability to stand, climb ladders, and lift materials.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation; WIA certification is a plus.
