Compliance Coordinator

Description

In this role, you’ll be a key driver in ensuring that Safety Management Systems remain aligned with corporate and regulatory requirements, while championing continuous improvement and fostering a proactive safety culture across the operation.

• Sharing information openly and effectively with key stakeholders
• Building positive relationships with government, community, consultants, and contractors
• Setting the tone for strong teamwork and commitment to site rules
• Preparing high-quality safety reports and analysing OH&S trends
• Assisting in the creation and review of safe work procedures, plans, and policies
• Actively identifying opportunities for improvement
• Monitoring compliance with legal and corporate HSE requirements
• Coordinating audits, inspections, and surveys
• Reviewing chemicals and substances for onsite suitability
• Supporting team members with risk assessments and safe work processes
• Maintaining systems for incident reporting, investigation, and notification
• Supporting incident investigations and hazard resolution processes
• Supporting hazard identification and accountability across site teams
• Supporting site induction programs and contractor management processes
• Recognising performance and holding people accountable to site standards
• Ensuring employees and contractors have the knowledge and skills needed for safe work
• Being a highly visible presence onsite—promoting Safety Policies, Standards, and Systems

Requirements

• Excellent relationship-building and customer service approach
• A proactive mindset with the ability to drive performance and influence outcomes
• Ability to work effectively under pressure and manage competing priorities
• Strong communication skills both written, verbal, and interpersonal
• Driving SafeCoal principles and effective fatal hazard controls
• Familiarity with ISO 45001 OHS Management Systems
• Logical, practical thinker with strong problem-solving abilities
• Intermediate MS Office skills
• Certificate IV in OHS
• Understanding of relevant WHS legislation
• High integrity and respect for culture and diversity
• Experience facilitating operational risk assessments
