The engineer will design and plan OSP facilities, prepare engineering drawings and calculations, conduct field measurements, develop and monitor project budgets, and perform quality inspections. Responsibilities also include preparing permit packages, ensuring regulatory compliance, coordinating with municipal officials and other utilities, supporting service orders and expansions, updating CAD and tracking tools, and assisting contractors to keep projects on schedule and within budget. Additional duties cover site surveys, complaint investigations, plant repair projects, administrative record‑keeping, and drafting reports.
Pearce is seeking a detail‑oriented OSP Engineer to design, plan, and implement outside‑plant projects involving copper and fiber networks. The position requires strong engineering, permitting, and construction coordination skills, as well as budget management and compliance with company and industry standards.
Candidates need 3–5+ years of hands‑on copper and fiber optic network engineering and at least 5 years of overall network or OSP experience, including permitting and fiber record management. Strong project management, organizational, and communication skills are required, along with proficiency in Frontier tools such as FROGS, Varasset, and SiteTracker. The role demands local travel, mileage reimbursement, and residence within one hour of Freeport, IL.
The base pay range is $36–$38 USD, with potential performance and referral bonuses, production incentives, and various stipends.
