Description

The Risk & Compliance Manager will maintain Built’s security and compliance posture by overseeing external audits, client due‑diligence engagements, compliance tooling, and recurring risk and control activities. The role works closely with Security, IT, Engineering, Product, Payments, HR, and Operations teams to keep the organization audit‑ready and aligned with industry and regulatory expectations. This is an individual‑contributor position without direct people‑management responsibilities.

• Respond to client security assessments, questionnaires, and due‑diligence requests.
• Provide compliance documentation and evidence through Built’s Trust Center.
• Coordinate the full lifecycle of annual SOC 1 and SOC 2 audits, including evidence collection and auditor communication.
• Administer the Trust Center, keeping policies, audit materials, and client access up to date.
• Support payments‑compliance activities such as AML/sanctions training and Nacha audits.
• Manage the lifecycle of policies and procedures, ensuring updates, annual reviews, and publication.
• Maintain core compliance documentation, including audit records, incident logs, and attestations.
• Monitor and track recurring compliance tasks via Jira automations.
• Partner with Learning & Development to deliver annual and onboarding compliance/security training.
• Participate in vendor reviews and maintain the Significant Vendor Index.
• Assist with the enterprise risk assessment and track mitigation activities.
• Process data subject access requests (DSARs) in line with regulatory requirements.

Requirements

• Require 7‑8 years of experience in security compliance, audit readiness, or risk management.
• Hands‑on experience with SOC 2 or comparable frameworks such as ISO 27001, PCI, or SOX.
