The Area Manager for Janitorial Services leads, manages, coordinates, and implements daily janitorial operations across all store locations within a designated territory, serving multiple customer banners.
Key focus areas include enhancing customer experience and retention, facilitating communication among United, customers, and partners, monitoring partner performance, overseeing store operations, maintaining quality standards, delivering training, managing costs, increasing revenue and profit per store, and supporting other Area Managers as needed.
In planning and budgeting, the manager participates in developing annual plans, schedules, and budgets for each customer banner, implements store‑level budgets, and creates short‑ and long‑term strategies to ensure operational sustainability and profitability.
The manager builds strong relationships with customers and business partners, acts as the single point of contact for all service communications, addresses store‑level concerns promptly, and supports regional management in meetings with key customer stakeholders.
Internal communication responsibilities involve coordinating daily communication with United partners, setting expectations, providing training and coaching, and participating in cross‑functional meetings with regional and support teams. The manager also leads process initiatives, conducts store audits, and ensures adoption of Salesforce and other United technologies.
Cost management duties include monitoring revenue, expenses, and gross margins at the store level, handling billing and invoicing, controlling material and equipment costs, and supporting senior management with operational costing for new and existing business. Asset inventory is tracked to ensure equipment and supplies are available as needed.
Workforce and performance management tasks involve co‑leading partner performance reviews, recruiting, training, and mentoring partners, and implementing performance improvement plans in collaboration with the Partner Effectiveness team.
The manager oversees technology usage, including Salesforce and Microsoft programs, and is responsible for overall asset management to support efficient store operations.
Candidates must hold a degree in business administration or a related field, have at least five years of experience in the janitorial or a similar operational environment, and possess three to five years of supervisory experience.
