In this role you will act as a technical expert interfacing with Regional Transmission Organizations and the Western Interconnection, while collaborating with internal teams to reduce congestion and curtailment, lower customer costs, and shape strategic direction for transmission planning and modeling.
The position is viewed as the organization’s subject‑matter expert, applying advanced theories and innovative research techniques to complex, self‑initiated projects. You may lead multiple critical projects, advise management and customers, and serve as a spokesperson on advanced programs.
Key responsibilities include providing technical expertise, leading large‑scale transmission planning studies, developing standards and procedures, managing bid and evaluation processes, mentoring junior staff, and coordinating budgeting, forecasting, and work‑order management for engineering projects.

Minimum qualifications vary by level: a bachelor’s degree in engineering (ABET‑accredited, electrical preferred) with 5+ years of experience plus EIT/FE or 7+ without for senior engineers, and 9+ years with PE or 15+ without for principal engineers. Preferred experience includes transmission planning or modeling tools such as PSLF, PSSE, TARA, or PROMOD.
