We are seeking an experienced Department Manager to oversee our contract on the Chatham Islands. The role leads a close‑knit crew of 14 mechanics, operators and waste‑minimisation staff, and is responsible for contract and financial management, pricing, tendering and ensuring a strong safety culture.
Applicants should have a minimum of five years’ proven experience on road‑maintenance contracts—preferably rural—including full Class 1 driver’s licence and working knowledge of RAMM. Strong leadership, a collaborative customer focus, excellent communication skills and the ability to build effective relationships are essential.
The successful candidate must be willing to relocate permanently to the Chatham Islands, embracing the island lifestyle.
