The role conducts general accounting processes, including expenses and balance‑sheet activities, for the Enterprise Service Center (ESC). It supports interactions between Accounting Managers and internal stakeholders, ensuring that software tools are functional and process flows are followed to maintain strong internal controls and protect ABM Industries' assets. The position also manages cash, bank, accounts payable, prepaid expenses, commissions, and other expense records while overseeing training deadlines and performance benchmarks.
- Review expense dashboards to analyze month‑over‑month variances versus budget/forecast and collaborate with Operations/Field managers.
- Support Operations/Field managers with accounts payable, prepaid expenses, commissions inquiries and provide relevant financial analysis.
- Compile the Tax Year End Schedule (YES) package with necessary financial data for tax reporting.
- Prepare reconciliations for cash, bank, AP, prepaid expenses, commissions and other expense accounts for monthly financial statements.
- Maintain schedules and documentation for management reporting, external auditors, and SOX compliance.
- Ensure Record‑to‑Report process flows and accountabilities are upheld in partnership with accounting leadership.
- Assist month‑end and year‑end close by performing accruals, reclassifications and adjustments meeting deadlines.
- Drive and manage process improvements across Record‑to‑Report processes.
- Participate in cross‑training and provide flexible support to team members as needed.
- Maintain systems, policies and procedures in line with company guidelines and accounting standards.
- Foster service‑focused relationships with field operations, ESC, Source‑to‑Pay, FP&A, IT, HR, Internal Audit and others, ensuring two‑way communication.
- Implement robust communication plans and share routine insights with counterparts and stakeholders.
- Assist with quarter and year‑end audit requests.

Candidates must hold a bachelor's degree in accounting or a related discipline and have 2–3 years of Record‑to‑Report and general accounting experience, preferably within a shared services environment. Experience with Oracle Cloud Finance modules (GL, PPM, Smart View, Reports, ARCS, Enterprise Journals) and proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel and PowerPoint, are highly preferred; PowerBI knowledge and a solid understanding of GAAP are also required.
