The Construction Manager acts as Parsons’ representative with the client, subcontractors, and suppliers throughout project execution. Responsibilities include managing Design‑Bid‑Build and CMAR contracts, representing the client in negotiations with regulatory agencies and public meetings, and overseeing cost reconciliation negotiations. The incumbent also supervises inspectors, coordinates procurement of long‑lead equipment, and establishes procedures for field vehicle and equipment administration.
Subcontractor management is a key function, involving drafting requisitions, scopes of work, amendments, and task orders, as well as reviewing and approving safety and quality control plans. The manager ensures subcontractor files contain current insurance certificates, monitors expenses versus budget, and prepares change orders and scope adjustments. Quality, safety, and emergency procedures are established and enforced, including weekly site inspections and oversight of an onsite materials testing laboratory.
Cost engineering duties include supervising the preparation of monthly construction progress and contract status reports, developing work breakdown structures, budgets, forecasts, and monthly safety self‑assessments. In accounting, the manager reviews and approves subcontractor invoices, supervises the development of Parsons invoices, and prepares quarterly construction management reports. The role also requires preparing and presenting reports and coordinating related meetings.
Parsons Corporation is seeking talented Construction Managers with experience on water and wastewater projects to lead a strong, multi‑disciplined team on a major water project in Southern Nevada. The role involves managing all on‑site field construction activities for medium‑size projects, typically ranging from 250,000 to 2 million man‑hours and $50 million to $100 million in installed cost. Candidates must become thoroughly familiar with contractual obligations and technical aspects of all facilities to be erected, and be willing to relocate to construction sites.
Candidates must hold a Bachelor’s degree in a construction‑related field or possess equivalent experience, and typically have 12 + years of field construction experience on major capital improvement projects. Experience on large water infrastructure projects and familiarity with CMAR delivery methods are strongly preferred. No security clearance is required for this position on the Critical Infrastructure team.
