HVAC/R Technician
Waterone
Provides water services, focusing on water distribution, treatment, and environmental sustainability.
Maintain, repair, and install HVAC/R equipment in WaterOne facilities.
Repairs and maintains chemical feed systems necessary to maintain cooling tower and boiler water quality.
Maintains HVAC/R equipment and controls for all WaterOne facilities.
Assists with duties pertaining to hazardous waste operations in accordance with all applicable requirements.
Performs preventive maintenance to all HVAC/R equipment including inspections, adjustments, cleaning, and calibrations to ensure proper operation of equipment.
Tests, repairs, and replaces associated equipment such as boilers, chillers, air handling units, pneumatic control systems, electronic control systems, cooling towers, motor starters, pump motors, etc.
Maintains an inventory of equipment and materials on service trucks.

Strong basic math skills.
Current EPA Refrigerant Recovery Type Universal or Type 2 Certification or ability to obtain certification within six months of employment.
Possess a valid driver's license and continuously meet WaterOne driving standards.
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relations with the team and other WaterOne employees.
Basic computer proficiency with MS Office (Outlook, Excel, and Word).
Diagnoses electrical and mechanical faults in HVAC systems.
Familiar with proper nomenclature of all tools, equipment, and materials used in the construction and maintenance of HVAC/R equipment.
Knowledge and ability to replace expansion valves, compressors, motors, coil units, and other components of HVAC/R equipment.
Completion of a HVAC/R vocational school or A.A.S Degree: HVAC, or completion of an HVAC/R apprenticeship program.
Ability to learn proper maintenance of system control equipment, and electric motors, starters, primary pumping units, HVAC units, and structural circuits.
Ability to communicate with internal customers about their needs and explain technical issues.
Knowledge of cooling tower and boiler water treatment systems and chemical feeds.
Ability to troubleshoot malfunctioning heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and refrigeration systems (HVAC/R).
High School Diploma or GED.
Ability to successfully complete a pre-employment drug screening and background verification in accordance with WaterOne standards.
Ability to communicate well in English, both orally and in writing. Must be a good listener.
Knowledge of basic safety requirements, use of personal protective equipment, and proper use of power and hand tools.
Familiar with common practices to diagnose and perform needed repairs to equipment or components associated with building automation and climate control systems.
One year of experience as an HVAC Technician in an industrial, utility, or commercial setting.
(Note: An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered in meeting the above requirements.)
