The position involves field work at multiple customer sites, including noisy equipment rooms, extreme weather, elevated heights, and exposure to high voltage. Physical demands include climbing, crawling, stooping, and regularly lifting up to 50 lb, frequently up to 75 lb.
- Install and commission HVAC equipment, including chillers, spot coolers, and cooling towers, with limited supervision.
- Perform depot maintenance, testing, cleaning, and inventory tasks for applied equipment.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot suction and discharge pressure issues; conduct refrigerant leak checks.
- Clean condenser coils, maintain tubes on water‑cooled chillers, and navigate control panels to collect data.
- Complete installation log sheets and ensure accurate documentation.

The HVAC Installation Technician reports to the National Service Leader in a non‑exempt, full‑time capacity. This role blends installation of applied equipment with depot maintenance, requiring strong problem‑solving, multitasking, and teamwork abilities.
Ideal candidates are customer‑service oriented, able to work under diverse conditions, and possess strong analytical and critical‑thinking skills. They should be capable of training junior technicians and consistently exceeding customer expectations.
- Hold a high school diploma or equivalent, valid driver’s license, and current HVAC certification with OSHA 10 training.
- Possess 1–5 years of HVAC/chiller maintenance experience and electrical knowledge; EPA certification preferred.
- Demonstrate strong problem‑solving, analytical, and customer‑service skills; ability to train junior technicians.
- Be capable of working independently, prioritizing multiple tasks, and lifting up to 75 lb while climbing or crawling.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office and handheld devices (smartphone, iPad).
