We are currently seeking a Gas Engineer to join our busy team. In this exciting role you will be responsible for carrying out all types of repairs on heating and hot water systems to both tenanted and vacant properties in accordance with job tickets, opti‑time appointment slots, specifications, contract drawings, and applicable regulations. You will be covering the areas surrounding Sheffield, Doncaster, and Rotherham.

The Gas Engineer will carry out repairs on heating and hot water systems in both tenanted and vacant properties, adhering to job tickets, specifications, building regulations and safety standards. Work will be performed with a right‑first‑time ethos, ensuring quality workmanship and minimal repeat visits. The role includes accurate record‑keeping, material procurement, risk assessments and delivering high standards of customer care.

• Perform repairs on heating and hot water systems for tenanted and vacant properties.
• Follow job tickets, opti‑time appointments, specifications, contract drawings and building regulations.
• Keep accurate paper or electronic records of job tickets, timesheets and gas certificates.
• Measure, quantify and procure required materials for each job.
• Deliver high‑quality customer care, protect tenants’ belongings and clean work areas after completion.
• Conduct risk assessments and implement health and safety measures for self, tenants and the public.
• Diagnose faults efficiently, minimizing material waste and time spent.
• Provide excellent customer service with strong literacy and numeracy for documentation.
• Work a flexible 37‑hour week, scheduled between 08:00‑19:30 across five days.
• Participate in call‑out rota one week every eight weeks.
• Access staff support networks including menopause, culturally diverse, LGBTQ+ and disability groups.

Requirements

The successful candidate must hold a full manual UK driving licence and relevant ACS accreditations (CCN1, CENWAT1, CKR1, HTR1, DAH1, CPA1, UDHW) together with a City & Guilds Craft Certificate in Gas Maintenance (NVQ Level 3) or equivalent. Experience in domestic gas appliance installation, fault finding, servicing and delivering efficient repairs is essential, as are strong health and safety knowledge and excellent customer service skills.

• Multi‑skill across related gas trade functions as part of the technician team.
• Hold a full manual UK driving licence.
• Possess ACS accreditations: CCN1, CENWAT1, CKR1, HTR1, DAH1, CPA1, UDHW.
• Have City & Guilds Craft Certificate in Gas Maintenance (NVQ Level 3) or equivalent.
• Demonstrate experience in installation, fault finding and servicing domestic gas appliances and central heating.
• Show strong knowledge of health and safety legislation applicable to building repairs.
