The Field Chemist I supports the Lab Pack Program, Household Hazardous Waste (HHW) and other field services by providing on‑site characterization, packaging, handling and transportation of wastes. The role requires strict safety compliance, meticulous attention to detail, and a focus on profitability and efficiency.
Key duties include delivering lab‑packing services at customer locations while adhering to regulations and company procedures, sampling and characterizing hazardous and non‑hazardous waste, generating waste profiles for end‑user facilities, and preparing price quotes. The chemist also creates detailed on‑site waste inventories, transports waste to end‑user or transfer facilities, completes internal paperwork for accurate invoicing, assists with off‑loading, de‑packs and consolidates waste, and provides technical support.
Candidates should hold a bachelor’s degree in chemistry, environmental science or possess equivalent experience, and have a solid understanding of basic chemistry concepts and business math. At least one year of chemistry or related environmental experience is required, along with a valid driver’s license that meets company MVR standards.
