Participate in site visits, construction reviews, and inspections, documenting field observations and preparing detailed reports.
Assist in the structural design of buildings and components using a variety of materials including wood, concrete, steel, and masonry.
Maintain accurate project documentation, calculations, and design records.
Perform engineering calculations for structural elements (beams, columns, foundations, connections) under guidance.
Prepare technical memos and correspondence related to project issues or design clarifications.
Support the preparation of construction drawings, technical specifications, and comprehensive design reports.
Conduct code reviews and ensure designs comply with applicable Canadian building codes and standards (NBCC, CSA).
Perform structural analysis for new construction, renovations, and retrofit projects under various loading conditions (gravity, wind, seismic).
Collaborate with architects, engineers, technologists, and clients to ensure coordinated project delivery.
Conduct research on materials, construction methods, and structural systems to support project development.
Utilize structural design and drafting software such as AutoCAD, Revit, and specialized analysis tools (SAP2000, ETABS, SAFE, RAM Structural System).
Assist in preparing cost estimates, proposals, and tender documents.
Develop engineering models and simulations to analyze structural behavior.
Review and verify shop drawings and submittals from contractors for compliance with design intent.

Highly organized with exceptional attention to detail and time management skills.
Registered or immediately eligible for registration as an Engineer-in-Training (EIT) with Engineers and Geoscientists BC (EGBC).
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Proficiency in structural modeling, drafting, and detailing software; experience with AutoCAD and/or Revit highly preferred.
1–3 years of relevant structural engineering experience in Canada; co-op or internship experience is considered a significant asset.
Self-motivated, collaborative, and eager to learn in a dynamic, multidisciplinary consulting environment.
Willingness to travel to project sites within British Columbia.
Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering from a recognized university.
Familiarity with Canadian structural design codes and standards.
