- Maintain rigorous design control procedures and ensure compliance with legislative and industry standards including CDM regulations.
- Drive value engineering initiatives to optimize product design and performance.
- Manage quality control processes, documentation, and continuous improvement within the modelling team.
- Lead and deliver DPF Stage 4.0 and 4.5 design activities, ensuring all products meet client requirements, manufacturing constraints, and buildability standards.
- Contribute resource planning and budget management for project delivery.
- Produce and manage detailed manufacturing and construction information, including 2D and 3D models with associated metadata.
- Review and challenge design intent and interfaces, ensuring alignment with manufacturing capabilities and site constraints.
- Provide expert advice on construction methodology and propose innovative solutions to improve buildability and quality.
- Apply engineering judgement to assess and ensure the safety and technical integrity of design outputs, with the authority to halt unsafe work if necessary.
- Support the manufacturing teams by reviewing design effectiveness and resolving manufacturing queries.
- Report on project progress and commercial status during contract reviews.
- Manage the onboarding and scope of external consultants ensuring alignment with Laing O'Rourke's standards and values.
