The Process Engineer is responsible for driving operational excellence across the galvanizing business by defining, measuring, analysing, and improving key operational processes. The role focuses on enhancing efficiency, reducing waste, and increasing profit margins through data‑driven decision‑making and continuous improvement initiatives. A key aspect is identifying, establishing, and implementing best practices to ensure consistency, scalability and long‑term sustainability, while collaborating with cross‑functional teams to deliver measurable improvements in throughput, quality and cost‑effectiveness.
Key responsibilities include collaborating with central and local management to plan and execute site‑specific improvement projects, leading improvement initiatives at UK galvanizing sites, and applying structured methodologies such as DMAIC and PDCA to boost throughput and cost efficiency. The engineer also establishes group‑wide operational best practices, monitors performance metrics, implements corrective actions, and works closely with production and maintenance teams to ensure process reliability.
Performance is measured by gains in production efficiency, throughput and margin, successful implementation of improvement projects, establishment of best practices, reduced downtime and waste, and compliance with safety and quality standards. The ideal candidate holds a bachelor’s degree in industrial or manufacturing engineering, has at least three years of relevant experience, possesses strong analytical and problem‑solving skills, knowledge of Lean and Six Sigma, excellent communication and teamwork abilities, and is willing to travel with a full UK driving licence.
The role offers a salary of £40‑45k plus up to 9% bonus, a company car or £500 monthly car allowance, 25 days holiday plus bank holidays, and benefits such as Reward Gateway, a Share Save Scheme, training and professional growth opportunities, exposure to varied projects, and a supportive environment with mentorship from industry leaders.
