Description

The Manufacturing Team Member safely sets up, operates, and adjusts metal‑forming equipment using appropriate tools and procedures. This role ensures the mill runs according to operating procedures, maintains clean work areas, and meets production goals while supporting co‑workers.

Key responsibilities include operating the cut‑back saw, performing changeovers, changing punches and shear dies, and conducting routine maintenance. The employee follows strict safety protocols, performs quality inspections with measuring tools, keeps accurate paperwork, and maintains an organized workstation.

• Configure and run metal‑forming machinery safely using appropriate tools.
• Maintain mill operation according to procedures and keep the area free of obstructions.
• Operate the cut‑back saw in compliance with order specifications.
• Execute equipment changeovers, replace punches and shear dies, and achieve production targets.
• Adhere to safety protocols, perform lockout‑tagout, and wear required PPE.
• Perform quality inspections with tape measures, micrometers, etc., and keep clear documentation.
• Carry out routine maintenance and alert maintenance staff to any issues.
• Keep the workstation tidy and help material handlers with coil changes.
• Guide and train helpers, and complete necessary paperwork.
• Work in a temperature‑controlled facility with mandatory PPE, noise control, and high activity levels.

Requirements

Successful candidates are mechanically inclined, problem‑solvers, and team‑oriented. Prior manufacturing experience is preferred, and military experience is recognized as equivalent. The position requires basic mathematical skills and the ability to read tape measures, calipers, and micrometers.

The role demands physical stamina such as lifting up to 50 lb, standing eight or more hours daily, and performing tasks like squatting and bending. Work is performed in a manufacturing environment with heat, cold, noise, and mandatory personal protective equipment.

• Show mechanical aptitude, solve problems, and work collaboratively.
• Prior manufacturing experience preferred; military experience accepted as equivalent.
• Use basic math and accurately read measurement tools.
• Lift up to 50 lb, stand 8+ hours, walk 4‑6 hours, and perform squatting, bending, extending motions.
