The TSM will be responsible for the management of all maintenance carried out, both reactive and planned, on all items of plant within the Generating Station, including steam boilers, water treatment plant, gas fired CHP engines, medical air compressors, chilled water system, standby generators and ancillary equipment.
The TSM will ensure the plant is compliant with all relevant statutory requirements, industry good practice is followed and health, safety and environmental requirements are met through upkeep of a thorough and comprehensive CAFM system. They will support the operations manager to ensure that LGSC is audit-ready at all times.
The Technical Services Manager (TSM) will report to the Operations Manager. They will be the line manager for the on-site maintenance team (max. 6 technicians). The TSM will have a supervisory role of operations staff. They will act as a deputy for the Operations Manager in case of absence, holidays or work away from site.
- General day-to-day management of the on-site maintenance technicians.
- Operation & Maintenance of Utility Plant including Generation Equipment
- Ensure plant-related routine duties and plant performance, availability and reliability are maintained
- Liaising with internal and external customers.
- Managing the procurement of spares and consumables in line with the budget.
- Leading the on-site technicians for maintenance, project work and outage preparation activities.
- Planning, organising and supervising maintenance activities utilising the CAFM.
- Support the Operations Manager to identify, produce and maintain identified, required site documentation and procedures
- Managing the legislative maintenance activities on-site, including ensuring that PSSR inspection requirements are undertaken, functional Safety tests are carried out, Legionella management, and ensure that statutory routines are programmed and carried out in line with the maintenance plan.
- Ensure correct application of the chosen safe systems of work
- Maintaining the plant to ensure compliance with appropriate safety and environmental standards, and statutory requirements including BG01/BG04, HTM’s and SFG20.
- Ensure data and records pertaining to site maintenance activities are compiled to the required standard, are retained and managed in a suitable electronic document management system
- Form part of the escalation chain for managing safety and any emergency response plans in line with EQUANS and the end users policies.

- Excellent IT skills and experience of operating a range of management systems
- Minimum HNC or equivalent in a relevant engineering discipline.
- Good presentation and communication skills
- Industrial Steam Boiler operations and maintenance experience (BOAS desirable)
- Leadership skills to balance financial, technical and people priorities
- NEBOSH Cert, IOSH Managing safely or similar safety qualification (desirable)
- Display behaviours and standards outlined in the Equans fundamentals.
