The role requires developing and maintaining collaborative relationships with the Portfolio Manager, Senior Project Manager, construction and supervisor teams, as well as internal and external stakeholders. Maintaining DBFO contract compliance, clarifying team roles, resolving risks and issues promptly, and producing accurate reports and change‑management records are essential.
You will design, agree and implement comprehensive project plans, ensuring activities are organised and resourced to meet objectives. This includes leading programmes through feasibility, design, construction and handover, preparing investment proposals, and creating robust cost profiles that identify key risks and resource needs.
Commissioning and managing Framework Contractors and Designers is a key responsibility, setting clear expectations for health and safety, time and cost, and taking remedial action when needed. You will also support sustainability targets such as net‑zero and biodiversity net gain, work closely with construction teams on permits and site reporting, and manage NEC contract options.
We are seeking a dynamic, self‑motivated individual with a strong project background to join our fast‑paced team delivering complex highway and technology schemes. Schemes range from £100k to over £4 million and include M&E, lighting, drainage and other infrastructure, with performance measured across Health & Safety, Quality, Cost, Environment, Delivery and People.
The ideal candidate has experience managing multiple projects concurrently, is a strong collaborator with commercial focus, and demonstrates high resilience, excellent communication and organisational skills. Experience in maintaining detailed project and stage plans, mentoring junior staff, and applying performance evaluation techniques is required.
Preferred qualifications include membership of a professional management body (e.g., APM), a BSc/MSc in management or construction or equivalent experience, APM PFQ/PMQ/PPQ, CSCS and SMSTS certifications, proficiency in Office 365, and a full driving licence.
The role may require security clearance, with the vetting process managed by UKSV. We champion an inclusive, family‑friendly culture, flexible working arrangements, and equal opportunity employment, valuing diversity across all backgrounds.
We offer competitive salaries, employee rewards, flexible benefits for health, wellbeing, financial and lifestyle needs, extensive training and development opportunities, hybrid working and flexible holiday allowances to support work‑life balance.
