Deployment Engineer

Description

This role serves as a key extension of the U.S. Technical Services team, delivering high-impact analytical and technical support during U.S. after-hours. The System Monitoring & Deployment Engineer is responsible for ensuring the reliability, performance, and continuous improvement of Nextracker’s solar tracking systems through data-driven analysis, remote monitoring, and high-quality technical execution.

You’ll be a core player in expanding backend operational capabilities, strengthening customer experience, and enabling seamless field operations globally.

• Maintain a high-quality incident log that feeds engineering, reliability, and product teams with actionable insights.
• Deliver structured training and onboarding for customers and partners to maximize system adoption and operational readiness.
• Partner with field teams to guide resolution steps and prevent recurrence through structured problem-solving.
• Recommend and track reliability improvements, procedural enhancements, and system updates that drive operational efficiency.
• Contribute technical feedback that shapes future product improvements and customer-facing documentation.
• Work closely with Engineering, Product, and Operations teams to validate fixes, improve workflows, and enhance the monitoring ecosystem.
• Develop data-driven reports, dashboards, and technical summaries that translate system behavior into actionable insights for stakeholders.
• Lead and execute software and firmware deployments for solar tracking systems, ensuring quality, validation, and seamless integration across customer sites.
• Proactively identify performance degradation, configuration risks, and failure trends across the global fleet.
• Maintain a customer-first approach by ensuring timely updates, transparent communication, and well-documented resolutions.
• Prepare clear customer-facing communication, service proposals, and incident reports that reflect technical rigor and professionalism.
• Perform in-depth diagnostics, leveraging monitoring data and system logs to identify failure patterns, isolate root causes, and implement corrective actions.
• Provide real-time oversight of system health using SCADA and monitoring platforms, escalating anomalies and coordinating with field resources to minimize downtime.
• Serve as a technical escalation point for customer concerns related to tracker performance, providing solutions and coordinating follow-through across teams.

Requirements

Analytical Troubleshooting & Root Cause Resolution

Exp: 1-2yrs

• Demonstrated ability in system monitoring, performance analysis, or field support involving complex electromechanical or IoT systems.
• Willingness to travel up to 20% to support field deployments, training, and escalations.
• Strong technical writing and communication skills, capable of producing high-caliber reports and customer-ready presentations.
• Proven problem-solving mindset with the ability to work independently, prioritize effectively, and anticipate operational risks.
• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical/Electronics Engineering, Renewable Energy, or a related technical field.
• 1–2 years of experience in renewable energy systems, industrial automation, or other technical operations environments.
• Proficiency in analytics tools such as Databricks, Power BI, Tableau, or equivalent, with the ability to create KPI dashboards and drive data-informed decisions.
• Experience with SCADA systems, industrial monitoring tools, or remote operations platforms.
• Familiarity with AI/ML-based tools for predictive performance analysis, anomaly detection, and automated reporting.
• Basic programming experience in Python, C, or scripting languages for troubleshooting, data manipulation, or workflow automation.
• Experience supporting U.S.-based technical operations from international time zones.
