The Project Manager (PM) develops, coordinates, implements, and manages all facets necessary to construct the project on time, within budget, and to the client’s satisfaction. The PM provides leadership and serves as the liaison between project team members and the client to promote the interests of both Yates and the client in all matters. The PM is the primary leader for the construction project and is charged with utilizing their experience and knowledge to make expeditious decisions, model efficiency, and run projects efficiently.

• Completing walk-throughs of the site to ensure safety, cleanliness, and standards are maintained
• Provide suggestions to improve Safety.
• Participate in workplace inspections.
• Participating in ensuring quality control is by the established project quality assurance program
• Developing scopes of work for each subcontractor
• Safety Responsibilities and Expectations Responsible for refusing unsafe work and for carrying out all work according to the established Yates Safety Procedures and Work Practices Report all incidents, near hits, and hazards to management. Required to wear and maintain personal PPE. Advise fellow employees of hazardous situations. Participate in workplace inspections. Comply with statutory requirements, including the duty of care. Participate in required and/or assigned training. Provide suggestions to improve Safety. Present a mature approach to working safely. Attend pre-start and Safety meetings and contribute. Assists with administering the site safety program as required and ensuring Trade Partner compliance with OSHA standards and Yates Site Specific Requirements, and all applicable safety codes and regulations.
• Ensuring superintendents have the necessary trades, materials, and equipment available to efficiently construct the project
• Scheduling and leading the project close-out process
• Developing and maintaining the site logistics plan for the project in conjunction with the General Superintendent
• Completing and communicating daily reports of activities that were scheduled and completed, along with other communications regarding the project’s progress to all stakeholders
• Responsible for refusing unsafe work and for carrying out all work according to the established Yates Safety Procedures and Work Practices
• Performing and overseeing project-specific QA/QC practices to ensure projects are delivered to project specifications and Yates’ standards of quality
• Representing the site team in owners’ meetings
• Arranging and leading preconstruction meetings with all subcontractors before beginning each phase of work
• Participate in required and/or assigned training.
• Advise fellow employees of hazardous situations.
• Identifying and resolving field and design issues
• Coordinating punch list items and procedures
• Assists with administering the site safety program as required and ensuring Trade Partner compliance with OSHA standards and Yates Site Specific Requirements, and all applicable safety codes and regulations.
• Participating in the development of strategic plans, including VDC
• Performing constructability reviews
• Overseeing subcontractors, vendors, suppliers, etc., to support project schedule delivery and scope of work commitments
• Attend pre-start and Safety meetings and contribute.
• Leading meetings to coordinate work and manage labor concerns
• Managing the project permit process
• Follow Yates' Code of Conduct
• Leading in administering the safety program for the project
• Tracking field progress against the “plan,” assisting in the development of the recovery plans if necessary
• Report all incidents, near hits, and hazards to management.

Requirements

Required to have project management experience on industrial EPC direct hire projects. Will be assigned to various projects as needed.

• Strong working knowledge of programs such as Primavera, Excel, Word, and MS Project
• Ability to work independently, multitask, and adapt in a fast-paced environment.

• An undergraduate University degree or higher (preferably in Construction Management, Engineering, or a closely related field) is preferred Other relevant education, training, or work experience may substitute for a bachelor’s degree
• Understand contract types and terms, i.e., General Conditions, Burn Rates, Fee Analysis,
• Extensive knowledge of all facets of construction
• Ability to focus on details and can work well within a deadline-driven environment
• Experience in managing trades valued at $50MM
• Other relevant education, training, or work experience may substitute for a bachelor’s degree

• Understand various insurance programs, i.e., SDI, BR policies, OCIP, CCIP

• Experience in managing a project using established methods of cost reporting, i.e., cash flow, safety, cost, schedule, VDC
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills

• Minimum of five (5) years of construction management experience
• PMP certified preferred
