Proven experience in the analysis and design of bridges, including assessment of existing structures and architecturally led structures.
Experience acting as a design lead or project lead on bridge or structural projects, coordinating inputs from others.
Ability to take technical ownership of bridge design packages and deliver work to agreed standards, budgets and programmes.
Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering (or equivalent) and Chartered Engineer status or nearing completion (MICE, MIStructE or equivalent international qualification such as PE/SE).
Experience in architectural bridge design and in working on international projects, as well as commercial and contractual awareness (including experience contributing to bids and managing fees) would be advantageous but not essential.
Good communication skills, with confidence liaising directly with clients, architects and other consultants.
Ability to mentor and support the development of more junior engineers and technicians.
