BIM Coordinator

Description

The BIM Coordinator I supports both project and REI coordination standards by working closely with field supervisors, project managers, and the Lead Modeler to integrate electrical systems into BIM models, manage coordination meetings, and ensure accurate documentation of any changes that affect cost or schedule.

• Coordinate electrical BIM models with field supervisors and project managers.
• Develop model intelligence alongside the Lead Modeler according to standards or project needs.
• Attend coordination meetings and document changes impacting cost or schedule.
• Review and issue installation drawings, change orders, and model exports for constructability.
• Maintain REI documentation, upload required files, and ensure confidentiality of proprietary information.
• Verify work accuracy before distribution and assist in preparing transmittal sets.

Requirements

Candidates must possess at least a high school diploma or equivalent and a minimum of five years of experience in the electrical construction industry, including familiarity with electrical symbols. A blend of education, training, and relevant experience is acceptable.

Success in this role requires proficiency with Autodesk Navisworks, Autodesk Glue, Design Review, and other detailing and coordination software, as well as competence in Microsoft Office and, preferably, Oracle. Strong communication, multitasking, and the ability to adapt under time pressure are essential.

• Utilize Autodesk Navisworks, Autodesk Glue, Design Review, plotters, and Microsoft Office; Oracle preferred.
• Prioritize multiple tasks, adapt to changing priorities, and communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
• Travel up to 20% and work in varied indoor environments with occasional lifting of up to 30 lb.
