The role ensures the accuracy of incoming and outgoing shipments by comparing identifying information with bills of lading, invoices, orders, and other records. It verifies that received materials match the order specifications, routes items within the company as directed, and utilizes equipment such as hand trucks, forklifts, hoists, conveyors, and overhead cranes to move material throughout the facility. The employee maintains related records, adapts procedures and tools for complex tasks, resolves most issues independently, and may assist in training lower‑level staff.
Key duties include receiving raw materials or components, processing the necessary paperwork, and placing items in the correct warehouse or operational location. Shortages, overages, or damaged goods must be reported to management promptly. The position also involves cleaning or repackaging received products, pulling items from inventory, preparing and packing shipments, processing packing slips, loading trucks, and staging products for shipping. Constructing shipping containers such as crates or boxes and ensuring safe packaging to prevent damage or injury are also required.
The job demands constant alertness, regular attendance, and cooperative teamwork. Minimum qualifications are a high school diploma or GED, with two years of preferred experience. Essential skills include strong verbal and written communication, high‑school‑level math, the ability to operate lift equipment, and basic computer proficiency in SAP, Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook. Shifts are typically 8–10 hours, covering all work periods, with possible overtime to meet production needs.
Benefits offered include medical, dental, vision, and prescription drug coverage, as well as spending accounts (HSA, health‑care FSA, and dependent‑care FSA). Employees receive paid time off, holidays, a 401(k) retirement plan with matching contributions, life and accidental death & dismemberment insurance, paid leaves, and tuition assistance.
