Overview
Lead transport planning projects, manage teams, and develop client relationships in Wales.

Tasks
-Supporting the leadership team with further development and expansion of our market position with clients in the Wales. -Supervising and mentoring more junior colleagues in undertaking technical tasks and coaching them in acquiring new skills. -Leading and/or managing a broad range of transport planning projects, with responsibility for project team management and collaboration, budgeting, programming and technical excellence. -Leading and supporting in the preparation of bids, fee proposals and project programmes. -Making an active contribution to four key pillars (People; Clients & Growth; Operations; and Technical Excellence) and supporting the Pillar Leads in these roles. -Attending and presenting at internal and external technical knowledge sharing events. -Being present in the office (hybrid working) alongside colleagues to help develop and coach junior members of staff. -Support in the management of our teams in Wales - both technically and pastorally.

What You Bring
-Experience in active travel, public transport, scheme development, business case development, transport studies, strategies and appraisals. -Experience in contributing to and preparing Transport Assessments and Travel Plans and providing design advice to developers and architects. -Have a sound commercial awareness including effective financial management. -Strong interpersonal and communication skills, able to communicate confidently with clients, stakeholders, team members and present at meetings, workshops and public forums. -A proven track record of acting in client facing roles and maintaining good client relationships;. -Strong numerical and analytical skills and excellent working knowledge of software such as TRICS and junction modelling programmes (Junctions 10 and LinSig). -The ability to work at both strategic and detailed levels is highly desirable. Up to date knowledge on latest transport policies and legislations (i.e. Well-being of Future Generations Act), Welsh Government and local authority design standards (DMRB, Manual for Streets, Active Travel Act Guidance) and planning processes applicable to the UK, particularly within Wales. -Ability to produce technical project and non-technical public reports and presentations for a range of clients and stakeholders to a high technical standard.
