In this role, the Design Manager will plan, organize, and direct design activities for the School Upgrade Program and critical repair projects, serve as the lead design professional, and manage the district’s design process to meet functional, budgetary, environmental, and legal requirements. Responsibilities include overseeing compliance with LAUSD standards, selecting architectural firms, coordinating with architects and consultants, conducting design reviews, documenting decisions, and supporting community outreach and continuing‑education initiatives.
CMTS is seeking a highly motivated Design Manager – Asset Management based in Los Angeles, CA. The ideal candidate holds a bachelor’s degree in architecture or engineering from an accredited institution and a valid California registration as an architect or professional engineer.
Candidates must bring at least ten years of professional experience managing facilities design, capital‑project planning, contract administration, cost estimating, and scheduling, including five years focused on the design and construction of educational facilities or similar public‑agency projects.
