Description

The Sr. Mechatronics & Robotics Technician leads service technicians in installing and repairing automated packaging and distribution equipment, supports the Operations Maintenance team with solution design and project management, and mentors both service and contract technicians.

Daily duties involve maintaining a safe work environment, troubleshooting conveyor systems, conducting and auditing preventative maintenance, installing and servicing control components such as relay logic, sensors, motor starters, and solenoids, and managing work orders with accurate labor and parts data.

• Lead service technicians in installation and repair of automated packaging and distribution equipment.
• Design solutions for complex problems and manage projects for Operations Maintenance.
• Mentor and train service and contract technicians.
• Maintain and troubleshoot all conveyor systems in the facility.
• Conduct and audit preventative maintenance procedures.
• Install, maintain, and troubleshoot relay logic, ladder diagrams, control components, sensors, motor starters, limit switches, proximity sensors, and solenoids.
• Create and close work orders with labor hours, equipment maintenance, and parts usage data.
• Develop training plans for service technicians.
• Develop emergency repair work plans for critical assets.
• Perform repetitive bending, crouching, kneeling, reaching, twisting, standing, and walking.
• Work in small, dusty, noisy, temperature‑variable, and elevated environments.

Requirements

Candidates must have a high school diploma or equivalent, flexible scheduling ability for weekends, nights, and holidays, at least three years of preventative maintenance experience, strong blueprint and schematic reading skills, and two years of work order management experience.

Preferred applicants hold an associate degree or higher in a mechanical or electrical field, possess five or more years of experience with automated conveyors and controls, have leadership and vendor‑management background, and are familiar with robotic maintenance, MHE safety standards, and CMMS tools.

The role requires physical stamina for repetitive motions, lifting up to 49 lb, standing or walking during 12‑hour shifts, and working in varied environments such as cramped spaces, dusty or noisy areas, and at heights.

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Ability to work flexible schedules/shifts, including weekends, nights, and holidays.
• 3+ years experience conducting preventative maintenance.
• 3+ years experience reading blueprints and schematics.
• 2+ years work order management experience.
• Associate degree or higher in mechanical or electrical field preferred.
• 5+ years experience with automated conveyors and controls.
• 2+ years experience with electrical and electronic principles.
• 4+ years apprenticeship or equivalent experience in mechanical or electrical field.
• Previous leadership and vendor‑management experience.
• Experience with robotic maintenance and Material Handling Equipment (MHE) safety standards.
• Familiarity with a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
• Ability to lift up to 49 lb and push/pull equipment up to 100 lb.
