Develop process models
Develop process narratives, process flow diagrams, and P&ID’s
Review project construction progress and interaction with contractors
Interact with clients to understand their needs, gather project requirements, and communicate technical information effectively; Build and maintain client relationships through professional communication
Develop process layouts including space requirements, adjacencies, and flow
Oversee projects through bidding and construction administration phase
Analyze engineering problems and propose innovative solutions; Collaborate with senior engineers and consultants to develop practical and efficient solutions
Work as part of a project team to support the execution of consulting projects. Lead efforts in project planning, budgeting, and scheduling tasks to meet project deadlines and objectives; Document design decisions and instructions from clients while monitoring project design progress as related to percent complete and fee expended
Identify potential project problems and seek advice from the Project Manager
Gather process information and develop project requirements
Perform and document technical calculations associated with design tasks
Stay up to date with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in chemical engineering; Contribute to research, development, and innovation efforts within IMEG
Prioritize safety in all aspects of engineering work; Identify and mitigate potential safety risks associated with process plant environments

Experience managing projects and leading teams preferred
Proficiency in design techniques, tools, and concepts involved in the production of technical plans and specifications
Skilled in AutoCAD and AutoCAD Plant 3D
Bachelor of Science (BS) Degree in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering, or equivalent required
Will have limited exposure to outside weather conditions and loud noises
Ability to travel up to 10% with occasional overnight stays
Proficient with MS Office Suite including but not limited to Word, Excel, and Outlook
Proficiency in the use of BIM software
Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; Ability to clearly communicate in both oral and written communication to individuals or groups
Occasionally required to drive, kneel, stoop, crouch, crawl, reach with hands or arms, and grasp or pull
Attention to detail and problem-solving skills
5 years of experience minimum required, 6 preferred, in the engineering consulting or chemical process industry required
Proficiency of industry standard engineering software and tools a plus
Engineering In Training (EIT) Certification preferred
Ability to train and mentor less experienced staff
Associates degree, or certificate, in Building Information Modeling (BIM) or Engineering preferred
Experience with hazardous chemical codes and requirements preferred
Technical and analytical skills including proficiency of principles in thermodynamics, heat transfer, and fluid mechanics relating to design in chemical process systems
