You will deliver the Group’s fleet strategy for roughly 200 vehicles, ensuring operational efficiency, compliance and continuous improvement. The role focuses on safety, cost‑effectiveness and sustainability, using data analysis to spot trends and recommend enhancements.
- Procure and manage new vehicles to meet operational and stakeholder needs.
- Lead delivery of the Fleet Strategy, including green initiatives such as CAZ compliance and EV transition.
- Plan and oversee vehicle maintenance and repairs to minimise downtime.
- Implement preventative maintenance programmes and optimise service schedules.
- Ensure compliant use of vehicles, especially vans, across operational teams.
- Act as primary contact for all vehicle lease and management matters.
- Introduce and maintain vehicle monitoring systems to improve safety, security and driver behaviour.
- Lead driver training and induction programmes, ensuring policy compliance and safe driving.
- Manage fleet budgets, achieving cost savings while maintaining performance.
- Generate monthly reports on driver safety, behaviour and fleet performance for stakeholders.
- Conduct regular vehicle inspections to maintain cleanliness, maintenance standards and brand presentation.
- Ensure compliance with legislation and regulations (HMRC, DLVA, H&S, Motor Insurance Database).
- Optimise efficiency of maintenance, repairs and servicing, promoting a “fix first time” approach.
- Develop strong internal and external stakeholder relationships for fleet operations.
- Manage relationships with external service providers to ensure best value and practice.
- Oversee health and safety responsibilities in line with company policies.
- Support stock take and plant checks as required.
- Supervise one full‑time Contract Administrator.

The ideal candidate has proven fleet‑management experience for a similar‑sized fleet, expertise in developing strategies around EV adoption and sustainability, and strong procurement and supplier‑management skills. You should possess excellent communication, negotiation and influencing abilities, advanced IT skills, a clean driving licence (including long‑wheelbase vans) and basic mechanical knowledge.
