We are currently seeking a Survey Field Technician for our Missoula, MT office. In this role you will assist Crew Chiefs, Senior Crew Chiefs, or Land Surveyors in acquiring field data for land‑surveying projects, providing survey assistance under their leadership.
- Perform day‑to‑day operations to collect field data for all land surveys, including boundaries, topographic surveys, and construction stakeouts
- Operate, maintain, and handle survey equipment, data collection, and other geodetic and reality capture equipment
- Set points on construction stakeout projects
- Perform quality checks using the assigned survey equipment
- Download project data
- Maintain professional and productive relationships with clients and coworkers
- Operate a company vehicle
- Observe safety and security procedures
- Read and interpret operating procedures, safety documents, and maintenance instructions
- Read surveys and engineering drawings
- Apply problem‑solving techniques
- Regularly sit, walk, stand, talk, see, hear, and lift objects up to 50 pounds
- Occasionally drive, kneel, stoop, crouch, crawl, reach, and grasp or pull

- Know modern survey equipment, devices, and methods
- Work independently and proactively collaborate as part of a team
- Possess basic oral and written communication skills
- Hold a valid driver’s license, be insurable by IMEG carrier, and consent to an MVR background check
- Be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and Outlook
- Associate’s degree or certificate in Land Surveying or Engineering preferred
- Prior experience in land surveying, consulting, or construction preferred
- Position is not eligible for sponsorship
- Work in all‑weather, year‑round outdoor environments with seasonal extremes
- Exposure to loud noises
