The Maintenance Technician role supports property operations by handling service requests, preparing units for new tenants, and maintaining equipment inventories, all while providing courteous service to residents. The position may require weekend work, participation in an on‑call rotation, and compliance with safety and Fair Housing policies.
- Complete all assigned service requests and make‑ready units.
- Maintain and inventory property supplies, equipment, and personal tools.
- Keep work area, tools, and equipment clean.
- Assist with preventive maintenance projects.
- Escalate unresolved issues to the Service Director.
- Participate in on‑call rotation and respond to emergency calls.
- Follow company safety policies, Fair Housing regulations, and weekend work requirements.

The company’s newest transition, Preston Ridge Apartments in Hickory, NC, is seeking skilled Maintenance Technicians. Candidates should bring at least three years of apartment‑community maintenance experience, HVAC certification, and a strong commitment to resident service. Experience with Entrata is considered a plus.
- Communicate positively with residents, vendors, and coworkers.
- Minimum three years of apartment maintenance experience.
- HVAC certification (Type 1 & 2 or Universal); Certified Pool Operator preferred.
- Proficient in plumbing, HVAC, electrical, and appliance repair.
- Comfortable using computers and property management software (Yardi, Entrata, HappyCo).
- Valid driver’s license and automobile insurance may be required.
