  • Collaborate with other dutyholders to share knowledge and create communities of best practice.
  • Stay ahead of regulatory changes, advising project and business teams on implications and mitigations.
  • Provide timely and accurate building information to designers and contractors.
  • Identify, manage, and mitigate design risks, with a focus on higher-risk building work.
  • Facilitate cooperation across design teams, contractors, and stakeholders to embed regulatory compliance.
  • Plan, manage, and monitor design work to ensure full compliance with UK Building Regulations.
  • Support the development and delivery of the Laing O'Rourke Building Safety Management System, including templates, processes, and training.
  • Oversee and coordinate any services provided by the Building Regulations Principal Designer Advisor (BRPDA).
  • Embed competence requirements relating to the Building Safety Act into project deliverables.
  • Ensure all designers are competent, accountable, and supported to deliver their duties.

  • Business acumen, balancing safety, compliance, and client value.
  • Strong technical background with a degree in Architecture, Civil, or Structural Engineering (or related discipline).
  • Chartered or working towards chartered status with RIBA, CABE, RICS or equivalent.
