Night Auditor

Description

The Night Auditor role is an hourly position responsible for reconciling all hotel cashier transactions, auditing financial and statistical reports, and ensuring accurate guest billing and city‑ledger entries. The auditor also performs guest‑service duties such as check‑in, check‑out, reservations, and switchboard operation, while keeping management informed of any operational or financial irregularities.

• Reconcile all hotel cashier transactions and audit front desk and food‑and‑beverage cashier work.
• Prepare and distribute daily, monthly, and other required reports (e.g., Daily Operating Report, Tax Reports).
• Process and transmit credit‑card transactions in a timely manner.
• Update financial information in the corporate communications network and perform regular data‑processing tasks.
• Communicate operational or financial issues to management and respond to governmental inquiries.
• Perform guest‑service duties such as check‑in/out, reservations, switchboard operation, and handling guest requests.
• Prioritize tasks to meet deadlines and ensure accuracy of all reported numbers.
• Cross‑train in other accounting or hotel areas while maintaining confidentiality of information.
• Maintain a friendly, professional demeanor, communicate effectively with guests and staff, and uphold hotel standards of appearance and attendance.
• Identify and resolve problems, suggest productivity improvements, and assist with implementing solutions.
• Work flexible, long overnight hours as required.

Requirements

The position requires a high school diploma or equivalent, at least one year of progressive hotel experience, and the flexibility to work long overnight shifts. Candidates must multitask, prioritize tasks, maintain confidentiality, and present a professional appearance while adhering to Highgate standards and demonstrating strong communication, problem‑solving, and customer‑service skills.
