Description

The position requires collaborating with lower‑level technicians, creating and updating site‑specific operating procedures, and recommending improvements to facility reliability. Preventive maintenance is scheduled through the CMMS, and mechanical upgrades and installations must meet code and manufacturer specifications. Strong computer skills are needed for documentation and customer communication, and compliance with safety regulations and after‑hours emergency response is essential.

• Diagnose, troubleshoot, maintain, and repair HVAC, ventilation, air‑conditioning, and refrigeration systems.
• Service pumps, fans, kitchen equipment, dishwashers, plumbing fixtures, and other mechanical equipment as needed.
• Utilize building automation systems and CMMS to monitor conditions, schedule preventive maintenance, and document work.
• Assist and coach lower‑level technicians on assignments.
• Create and update site operation procedures; recommend reliability improvements.
• Perform mechanical upgrades and installations per code and manufacturer guidelines.
• Communicate work status and feedback to customers while ensuring compliance with codes, policies, and safety standards.
• Follow safety protocols including lockout/tagout, PPE, and job hazard analysis.
• Respond to after‑hours emergencies on‑site as required.
• Climb extension ladders, roof ladders, stepladders, and stairs frequently.
• Perform repetitive bending, stooping, squatting, and reaching tasks.

Requirements

The role involves advanced expertise in responding to work orders, troubleshooting, and providing preventative maintenance on industrial or commercial HVAC and refrigeration equipment. The technician also handles service calls for pumps, fans, kitchen equipment, dishwashers, plumbing fixtures, and other mechanical systems, while using automated building controls to monitor conditions.

Candidates must have a high school diploma or GED, an EPA 608 universal refrigerant handling certification (or equivalent), and at least two years of experience maintaining commercial HVAC systems. Physical abilities include regularly lifting up to 50 lb, climbing ladders and roofs, and performing repetitive bending, stooping, and reaching. The role does not offer visa sponsorship and requires U.S. work authorization.
