HSE Supervisor

Description

As an HSE Supervisor based in Honolulu, Hawaii, you will shape the safety culture on projects that influence the local community’s future. This role offers the chance to implement safety plans, train teams, and lead inspections that protect workers and the environment.

• Implement and support project HSE plans, regulatory requirements, and safe work practices
• Identify, evaluate, develop and deliver project‑specific HSE training
• Implement district HSE communication strategies on projects
• Recognize, evaluate, and advise on hazard identification
• Lead and conduct project HSE inspections and monitor quality and effectiveness of inspections and trade safety plans
• Develop and evaluate efficiency of the project emergency response plan, site‑specific security requirements and the environmental plan
• Monitor and audit trade contractor HSE performance
• Participate in on‑site investigative processes and evaluate corrective actions taken
• Develop and maintain positive relationships with all stakeholders
• Coach, train and mentor HSE Coordinators and other employees

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Occupational Health and Safety or related field
• Hold a safety designation
• Minimum 5 years’ experience in a health and safety role; supervisory experience an asset
• Solid understanding of applicable OH&S and environmental legislation and HSE processes
• Conflict resolution skills with ability to problem‑solve
• Strong verbal, written communication and presentation skills
• Ability to develop, influence, and maintain effective stakeholder relationships
• Strong working knowledge of construction processes and terminology
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and aptitude for adopting new technology
